Kelly & Jesse's Engagement Session In Albany, NY
Wedding Photographers In Albany NY
By Jeffrey House Photography
The engagement session is one of the most important aspects of beautiful wedding photography, if not the most important.
They're also a lot of fun!
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Kelly and Jesse's engagement session. Because of its personal meaning, they wanted their engagement session to be photographed in downtown Albany at the State Capital and surrounding areas. Even though this spring hasn't been the best with regards to weather, we were really fortunate to get an absolutely perfect day!
As wedding photographers in Albany NY, I was excited to have the beautiful scenery around the Capital building as our backdrop. This area provides a lot of variety and unique photo opportunities. So, today, I want to share some of my favorite photos from my session with Kelly and Jesse.
This first set of images were captured on the Plaza in Albany and you can see part of the Egg in a couple of the images.
Next, we moved our location to a beautiful Albany building - The Court of Appeals.
Right next to the Court of Appeals is the Supreme Court. While the Supreme Court building doesn't provide the same aesthetic value, we used some of it's beautiful detail in the photos. In this next photo, we included the light fixture in the background. While it's subtle, it adds just a little something extra to the photo that I really like.
Right next to the Supreme Court is this street with these stunning brownstone buildings. Apparently, they used to be housing, but now they are a business. They knocked down a bunch of walls inside and joined the structures. I really loved this area because the contrast between the black rails and the green brush is very interesting.
As we were leaving this area for a new location I spotted this tree down the street and had to get a couple of photos. This tree is so unique, I couldn't pass it up!
Next, we headed to the Education building. This is another gorgeous building with huge columns that look really great in photographs.
The front of the State Capital building is very beautiful with lots of stairs and unique photo opportunities; however, they had barricades blocking the stairs this particular day. So, we moved the back of the building and if you've never been to the back of the Capital, it's very beautiful. We captured a couple of photos that turned out to be a couple of my favorite images. The first one was captured without any external lighting. For the second image, we added a little external light to give Kelly and Jesse a little more "pop" and create a little more of a dramatic feel.
I hope you've enjoyed your sneak peek into Kelly and Jesse's engagement session. As you can see, this area has a lot to offer and it presents a lot of possibilities. If you'd like to learn more about this location or my engagement sessions, be sure to contact me today!
